And the Winner Is.... (Something for a Smile Too)

Thank you for all the visits and wonderful comments. We have so much to learn from God's Word and from each other! It's a blessing to inhabit this bloggy world with you!

The winner of Mining for Gold in the Heart of Your Child Characater Chart by Renee Swope is Casey S. Congratulations! Renee will be in touch with you via email to get your address for shipping. For all of us who are praying to be godly parents, check out this wonderful resource through the link.

My neighbor sent this to me yesterday, and it made me smile big. In the midst of a trying day with our kids, this is a great reminder of what we signed up for!

POSITION :Mom, Mommy, Mama, Ma, Dad, Daddy, Pa, Papa

JOB DESCRIPTION :Long term, team players needed, for challenging permanent work in anoften chaotic environment. Candidates must possess excellent communication and organizational skills and be willing to work variable hours, which will include evenings and weekends and frequent 24 hour shifts on call. Some overnight travel required, including trips to primitive camping s ites on rainy weekends and endless sports tournaments in far away cities! Travel expenses not reimbursed. Extensive courier duties also required.

RESPONSIBILITIES :The rest of your life. Must be willing to be hated, at least temporarily, until someone needs $5. Must be willing to bite tongue repeatedly. Also, must possess the physical stamina of a pack mule and be able to go from zero to 60 mph in three seconds flat in case, this time, the screams from the backyard are not someone just crying wolf. Must be willing to face stimulating technical challenges, such as small gadget repair, mysteriously sluggish toilets and stuck zippers. Must screen phone calls, maintain calendars and coordinate production of multiple homework projects. Must have ability to plan and organize social gatherings for clients of all ages and mental outlooks. Must be willing to be indispensable one minute, an embarrassment the next. Must handle assembly and product safety testing of a half million cheap, plastic toys, and battery operated devices. Must always hope for the best but be prepared for the worst. Must assume final, complete accountability for the quality of the end product. Responsibilities also include floor maintenance and janitorial work throughout the facility.

POSSIBILITY FOR ADVANCEMENT & PROMOTION : None. Your job is to remain in the same position for years, without complaining, constantly retraining and updating your skills, so that those in your charge can ultimately surpass you

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE :None required unfortunately.On-the-job training offered on a continually exhausting basis.

WAGES AND COMPENSATION :Get this! You pay them! Offering frequent raises and bonuses. A balloon payment is due when they turn 18 because of the assumption that college will help them become financially independent. When you die, you give them whatever is left. The oddest thing about this reverse-salary scheme is that you actually enjoy it and wish you could only do more.

BENEFITS :While no health or dental insurance, no pension, no tuition reimbursement, no paid holidays and no stock options are offered; this job supplies limitless opportunities for personal growth, unconditional love, and free hugs and kisses for life if you play your cards right.

Have a happy day!

I LOVE THIS!! How true, isn't it? Thank your neighbor for me. It is quite encouraging, looking at parenthood from the outside. Ha. I pray you will be blessed in your parenting skills and that your children will grow through them.

LOL I got this in an email a long time ago but it makes me laugh every time. I just wanted to thank you for the Encouragement Today devotional yesterday. I had not been taking the time to read those when I got them but felt a small voice (Holy Spirit) telling me to save that one and take the time to read it. Yep, I needed it. :) Thanks again! ((HUGS))

Amy, I enjoyed your devotional from yesterday. As Christians, we are called to share the word of God and to speak truth to one another. I am thankful that you empathized with the woman who was having a hard time with accepting what the scripture calls us to as believers. But, I hate it when we feel responsible, or that we should bear the burden, of making God's word less hard to swallow. We are so often tempted to water it down so that it doesn't challenge our world view or our sin. Thank you for having a heart that feels what others may feel, while at the same time not being ashamed of God's eternal truths...that are always for our good.

Love you friend!
