So today is the day. It's the first day of my life as a work-from-home mom. Yesterday was the last day of school where I was teaching, and this morning I'm blogging in my pjs.
Hurrah!
I won't be able to do this every morning, since I'm starting some new enterprises soon (I'll share when it's official!), but today I'm giving myself a day to start slow and enjoy. I've been flipping through my Southern Living and planning to hit the yard for some long over-do trimming. Bliss.
(Yes, I need to go the grocery store too, but that's not my favorite. I'd choose sweating in the yard over the grocery store every time. As Scarlett says, "I'll do it tomorrow".)
I also have a heavy heart, though, from some of the prayer requests I've been receiving from much-loved friends. I have friends struggling with all kinds of things today--the pain of divorce, sick children, estranged relationships, financial crisis... Can you relate?
Here's the verse that I'm praying for my friends this morning:
Psalm 130: 7, "O Israel, put your hope in the Lord, for with the Lord is unfailing love and with him is full redemption."
Please hear me. Prosperity theology is not my thing and really makes me a little ill. I see lots more in scripture about sacrifice, suffering and taking up our cross than health, wealth and promised pleasures.
However, I think that God has been calling me back into balance as of late. There is suffering, but His benefits are incomparable. Full redemption. With Jesus comes full redemption. That's quite a promise.
So this morning I'm praying for full redemption for...
marriages,
families,
little bodies,
wrecked finances,
and your need.

Redemption in Christ is so good. I haven't thought about praying for it in regards to the items you listed. Thank you!

Just dropping by to say hello - you were on my mind:)
Amy,
Oh, yes, I love quiet mornings too. They are rare treasures.
I too am lifting up friends to God praying the power of the blood of Christ from the top of their heads to the bottom of their feet because there is wonder-working power in the blood.
Looking forward to hearing about your new venture.
His Daughter,
Kristy
