Sitting in a small church in the mountains of Ecuador, I watched as the people gently unwrapped their Bibles from beautifully hand-embroidered, cloth coverings. I listened as their voices reverently echoed the speaker as he read from scripture. I reflected on how easy it is to waltz into Walmart and toss a Bible into my cart already full of other "treasures".
This 10-minute video reminded me once again of the treasure that sits this morning in a basket beside my "quiet time chair".
God's Word.
His very Words.
Right there beside me.
What a treasure.

Oh we treasure...and take for granted can differ so greatly.
THANK YOU for sharing this video.
These people are rejoicing over what many of us have multiple in our homes. God's word in a form in which they can read it.
God, I praise you for those missionaries that go out into all the world and teach to nations in YOUR precious and HOLY NAME!
I treasure this post.
I am in tears.
I don't think I have every visited your blog before, but I was led here today after seeing a link on Glynnis Whitwer's blog. Now, I know why. This is the second nudge I've received this week to dive into God's Word more. : )
Thank you so much for sharing this.
I found it so amazing and so beautiful that there was all this singing and dancing, etc... but when the Bibles came off the plane, everything fell silent. A Holy Hush.
Such reverence for the Word of God.
It amazes me that the Kimyals already had God's Word hid in their hearts. And, it brings tears to my eyes to see the joy that fell over them at the sight of God's Word in their own language.
How beautiful!
Oh, that I may see the Word of God as they see it.
Oh, that I may revere the World of God as the Kimyals.
Oh, that I may have ears to hear and eyes to see the wonder of The Word.
Thank you so much, again, for posting this. Your blog is a Word from God to me today.
Blessings on you.
Thank you for sharing this. I sat here this morning alone at my kitchen table with the Word of God open beside me. Tears were streaming down my cheeks as I watched this. I posted it to my blog to share with my friends.
Thank you
Blessings,
Kendra

That was amazing! We are so spoiled and we take the Holy Word of God for granted! Oh praise the Lord for showing us just what a treasure His Holy Word is! To God be the Glory!
Thank you, Amy, for sharing this!
