On My Way!

It's almost time to go! I'm headed to one of the most hospitable, fascinating places in the world, India. Want to know about the mess?

I hope you'll come back after Nov. 1 for all the God-stories! I won't be able to sleep tonight for the big dreams floating through my head and heart.

Wow, Amy! My husband and I love India and find ourselves drawn to the food, the people, the films about it, and more. May God use you mightily there, and in you also. :) I am so curious to hear more.

You are in my prayers. I will also be praying for the hearts and minds of the women in India to be open to God's forgiveness and grace. We have a couple in our church who are retired missionaries to India, so we are not strangers to the need. My daughter, who is currently a Junior nursing major in college, has a desire to minister to the people of India one day in both physical and spititual ways. God Bless you! I know you will not get this message until you return, but I wanted you to know how excited I am to share your blog with my daughter.

Hopping over from P31 devotional for today! You have encouraged me...for months I have felt the Lord leading us(as a family) to the mission field..specifically to offer the hope of Jesus to orphans(we have 6 kids, 1 adopted from Bulgaria, and one on the way from Ethiopia), and you are my THIRD confirmation for TODAY!!:) Praying for you as you travel and would love it if you would pray for our family as my husband leads us to discover what the Lord might have for us. Thank you for your ministry!

Dear Amy
I receive Proberbs 31 devotion daily and as I read your devotion today, it ministered straight into my heart. I live in South Africa in the country. On the outskirts of our little village is an african township. This year, the Lord has led me to offer my skills at our local community centre where hundreds of people from the township come to the mobile clinic, and once a week some come to collect food parcels (through Matthew 25 ministries) and we have a chance to minister to them through music and food and the Word. Today was a particularly hard day as the heat was intolerable, people were hungry and thirsty and just reading your devotion about the smells, the squalor etc etc I was wondering if I made any difference at all to the queues of sick, hopeless, helpless people who seem so indifferent to the message of Jesus. And they live on my doorstep! So, you inspired me to carry on just hoping that each week, one may shine with the light of Jesus.
Blessings with your trip and I look forward to more inspirational journal entries !

Hi Amy,

In my last post of a series of three on human trafficking, I have some beautiful photos of Indian women. http://www.jenniferdougan.com/2011/10/its-beginning-to-look-lot-like.html

May God do mighty things in and through you there.

Hi Amy I have been praying for you and the team while you minister to the women in India. I know in my heart that God is using you all to touch the hearts of his daughters. I also know that he is using his daughters in India to minister to you and the team. I am sure he is revealing new truths to you as well. I can't wait to hear about all the experiences when you return. God bless you.
